Bureau of Waterworks Tokyo Metropolitan Government asked TOYOKEIKI Co., Ltd to develop “Water Supply Pressure Confirmation System”, so we have conducted joint development of the system for 1 year.
Finally we have accomplished this system.
TOYOKEIKI developed this system for Bureau of Waterworks Tokyo Metropolitan Government to check the water supply pressure of important facilities.
It adopted the way of collecting the water supply pressure data through wireless communication as a communication method, and adopted PHS line, which is stable in a city in a time of disaster so there was no communication restriction control when the Great East Japan Earthquake.
This system is expected to let us know the water supply pressure of important facilities in remote places easily and quickly without visiting them, and to make us possible to take a quick measure.
The system configuration is made up of the pressure check device, the pressure sensor, and receiving device.
The pressure check device installed at a check point in advance is designed based on time-proven products of LP gas monitoring, and PHS communication unit, data conversion device and battery are inside.
It can run for more than 10 years even though it checks the pressure when it is once a day and it realizes easy battery replacement.
The pressure check device is inside the water proof (more than IP67) case. The pressure check sensor is installed at the upper stream of water meter using special joint and connects by cable to the data converter.
Receiving device which collects the water supply pressure is PHS endpoints, which can connect to the PC at which dedicated software was installed.
They are mobile device, so if one base station is down, you can collect data by moving to near another working station (although PHS endpoints need AC power).
The water supply pressure can be checked on the confirmation display and it is reserved in a CSV format, so you can edit the data as needed.
There are three ways to collect the data.
a.Individual Data Collection/ General Data Collection
b.Data collection at regular times
This function collects the data of selected facility every 5 minutes to 60 minutes, and edits the them time series data, so it is easy to know the time series pressure change.
c.Scheduled Data collection
The function collects the data at the designated time automatically. This realizes regular monitoring the pressure change process.
The output of the pressure sensor we used in this case is analogue (4-20mA), so if the signal of the data is the same kind, it can collect the data of other endpoints than the pressure meter.
Furthermore, you can take advantage of PHS communication units for various purpose because they can transmit and receive telegram signal and receive contact signal.
