TOYOKEIKI “IoT-R” achieves sales of 1 million units

TOYOKEIKI Co., Ltd. has recently achieved the 1-million-unit mark in total sales of "IoT-R", an IoT device using LPWA network technology, developed for the domestic LPG market. Since the first IoT-R was installed in October 2018, the sales have steadily increased, and on May 11, 2021, reached 1,003,101 units.
The company's first goal was to reach 1 million units, and it took about two and a half years to complete.
The following characteristics are the reasons why IoT-R has been often adopted:

• One of the opportunities to promote digital transformation
• Affordable hardware price
• Simple installation with battery-embedded
• Usefulness of automatic meter reading(AMR) and advanced utilization of the big data.

Customers found the IoT-R implementation successful in these situations:

• Under covid-19 pandemic (avoid human contacts during meter reading)
• Meter reading in remote islands, mountainous areas, areas with heavy snowfall, holiday homes, large factories, livestock barns(where hygiene control is required), and security apartments etc.
• IoT-R installation triggered the digitalization of the business and management reform.
• Significant cost reductions through combining IoT-R and "Gas-Look”, TOYOKEIKI’s e-statement service.

TOYOKEIKI plans to build the environment that enables 100% automatic meter reading as possible.
We aim to achieve 3-million-unit sales as company’s next target.
