Centralized Monitoring Center at TOYOKEIKI renews “ISO/IEC 27001” certification

TOYOKEIKI Co., Ltd. is a developer, manufacturer, and sales company of gas meters and water meters. In addition, in order to provide better services by utilizing the data and functions of the meters, we began developing a telemetering service (centralized monitoring system) more than 35 years ago, ahead of others in the industry, and have been continuing to operate and maintain.
Our telemetering service started with a wired telephone line system at the customer's residence, and over time it has adapted PHS network, FOMA network, specified low-power radio, LPWA etc., providing a one-stop service from the meter to the services.
In 2018, we developed and released the industry's first LTE-Cat.M1 communication device “IoT-R”, with a total of approximately 3.5 million units installed and in operation.

“TOYOKEIKI Multi Center”, a telemetering service commissioned center, has been in operation for more than 20 years since 1999, authorized by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan, manned 24/7 to perform centralized monitoring of LPG and water supply.
In December 2020, we obtained the international standard ISO/IEC 27001 certification in ISMS (Information Security Management System) for the purpose of improving information & data handling and security, and we have renewed it in December 2023.
ISO/IEC 27001 is an internationally best recognized standard for ISMS, jointly developed by ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission).
In order to deal with the risks (e.g. data leaks) to information assets including personal information, we apply over 100 measures of "control measures for requirements" stipulated by the standard to center operations.
Domestically, ISMS related certifications are obtained by local governments, public interest corporations etc., as there are the cases where the certification is one of the requirements for participation in bidding projects by public ministries and agencies.
With the renewal of ISO/IEC 27001 certification, we will continue to operate the center in more secure manner based on international standard for the information assets, including our customers' important data.
