TOYOKEIKI Co., Ltd. increases the value of measurement by improving measurement technologies and contributes to the development of civilization.
“The Measurements are the mother of Civilization”, “the Civilization began with Measurements” said Dr. Shigeo Iwata, former president of The Society of Historical Metrology, Japan. The measurement is the concentration of the wisdom of mankind, so by measurements we can handle things scientifically.
We, TOYOKEIKI Co., Ltd., develop and manufacture water and gas meters that are closely connected to daily life, in Nagano, Japan blessed with a rich natural environment. We also integrate them with cutting-edge communication equipment to create new value in measuring, both in Japan and overseas.
With the development of microcomputer gas meters, gas accidents can be prevented, and electronic water meters can detect water leaks. Automatic meter reading can save labor, monitor whether elderlies are living safe, and detect any abnormalities in daily life at an early stage.
By measuring gas dividing it with usages such as heating / hot water supply, it enables to offer the rate plan selections, and promote gas demand. By visualizing usage, it can contribute to electricity saving, water saving, energy saving, and CO2 reduction. Prepaid gas meters have been well received overseas.
We will contribute to further development of society, by providing new technologies and services combining measuring technology with IoT and AI.

We take pride in the products that support social infrastructure, pursue the value of measurement, and create brands.
At TOYOKEIKI Co., Ltd., we have been working hard taking pride in our products related to social infrastructure, pursuing the value of measurement, and aiming to create brands based on our basic philosophy “Increase the value of measurement by improving measurement technologies and contribute to the development of civilization.”
There are 159 units of measurement stipulated by the Measurement Act in Japan, and all those units are combinations of “standard units (7 types): length, mass, time, current, temperature, amount of substance, and luminous intensity.” We believe that "increasing the value of measurement" means to create new uses (combinations) from measurement values such as volume and communication, and producing promising products and services through technological innovation in hardware and software.
By developing and manufacturing water/gas meters and providing them to the utilities in Japan and overseas, we can say that we support the infrastructure businesses essential to society. Meters must be able to measure accurately for the transactions, so we carry out the tests on every single meter based on ” the Measurement Act”, with “quality first”. Although it depends on the number of households, it is another major feature that meters are in a cyclical demand.
On the other hand, pursuing the added values to meters is the characteristic of our company, since meters could be easily commoditized. One of those is the integration with communication networks. We started our network service business in the 1980s, when landline telephones were mainstream. And communication technology has become our strength.
Now the era of smart meters has arrived against the background of the demand associated with Japan's population declining. We can contribute to the society with the know-how we have cultivated over many years. Our monitoring center that manages the reports / data has also grown to be one of the largest in Japan.
I value the teachings of “不易流行, Fueki Ryuko'' and “知行合一, Chiko Goitsu” as aiming a 100-year company. The idea of “Fueki Ryuko: Do not change your important ambitions, change what needs to be changed” is important for company and organizational growth. By firmly build the idea of "Chiko Goitsu: Knowledge without action is forever incomplete" among the company, we can promote valuable work together with our employees.
We will continue to contribute to society and grow our company together with our employees by "increasing the value of measurement," and strive to become a company that is sought after by customers.
